Wind concerns addressed at forum in Grafton, Vermont

What are the impacts of wind turbine developments on water in nearby communities?

That was the main topic at the third in a series of forums held in Grafton, Vermont, regarding a potential wind development project by the Spanish company Iberdrola Renewables.

Discussion at the forum on February 21, 2014 included concerns about storm water runoff from construction roads and turbine pads, and fuel oil from explosives used during construction being released into the soil.

One of the speakers, Geoffrey Goll, Vice President of Princeton Hydro in New Jersey, said “Wind projects, they look pretty benign from a distance, but they have an impact.”
